what is yoga therapy?

Although all yoga is potentially therapeutic and healing, yoga therapy is the specific application of yogic tools—postures/exercises, breath work, meditation techniques, and more—to address your physical, mental, and emotional needs.


As a yoga therapist, I am certified and have in-depth training to help me assess and keep my clients safe. I work with you to address your specific goals while considering any limitations you might be experiencing, so it really is a partnership to develop a customized plan specifically for YOU.  As a yoga therapist, I may recommend practices like: 


  • Movement, ranging from gentle to vigorous
  • Breathing techniques
  • Meditation or visualization practices
  • Physical postures that address specific areas of discomfort or musculoskeletal imbalances
  • Any combination of tools like these!


If you'd like to go deeper in your practice or focus on specific health concerns or areas of your life, consider private one-on-one sessions. I will work with you in private, online meetings to create a treatment plan tailored to your needs and desired outcomes.  Perfect if you are a beginner, if you want to take your practice deeper, or you have a health concern.

  • Our first session starts with a confidential assessment.  We discuss your health history, lifestyle and goals, and get to know one another.
  • Next, based on your needs, I develop a treatment plan tailored to your needs and and what you hope to gain from it.
  • In confidential online sessions, I guide you through the best options to help you on your path to well-being.  
  • Your personalized session may include a combination of talking, yoga poses, breathing exercises, meditation, relaxation, and lifestyle education. 
  • Together we look at ways to promote balance and health by recognizing how the mind, body, spirit, and environment are connected. 
  • You'll learn the small, daily changes in habits and in patterns of behavior that are the key to better health.
